Majestic’s Spring wine list just landed through my letter box. Between 2 February and 26 April they’re offering 25% off their entire South Africa range and 20% off Portugal. In both cases, the deal applies when you buy any 2 bottles of South African or Portuguese wines (not fortifieds) as part of a minimum purchase of 6 bottles…blimey, that’s a mouthful, feel like a lawyer again!
I’m about to head off for the Loire via Eurostar this frosty morning, but here are a couple of unfrosty, friendly tips on Portuguese wines I’ve recently reviewed, with links to my reports:
- Quinta de Azevedo Vinho Verde 2008/2009 £6.24 or £4.99 when you buy 2 – see my review here – one of the best value Vinho Verdes you’ll find at full price, so this is a snip!
- Quinta do Noval Cedro do Noval 2006 £14.99 or £11.99 when you buy 2 – see my review here – includes declassified fruit from the top wine, which was not made in 2006, so this is a great buy.
- Quinta do Noval 2007 £35.00 or £28.00 when you buy 2 – - see my review here – from the beautifully elegant 2007 vintage, this is very fine.
I’ll write up some South African tips when I’m back – meantime, à bientôt!
