Save a rare beast – a meaty wine column – The Observer

The Observer wine columnist Tim Atkin MW is one of my role models when it comes to wine writing.  No armchair critic, he travels and tastes widely and relentlessly.  In consequence, his style is unpatronising, considered, authoritative and muscular.  Not shouty or sensational, he puts wine at the core of his work.  And he retains a sense of humour, nay wit.

Well a nit witted decision has been made to reduce his column to 3 recommendations a week – Tim’s wine commentary, indeed, wine deserves better than to be relegated to a shopping list.  So I have some recommendations for the people at The Observer, but they’re not printable!  If you agree with me, you can register your support here on Facebook.
