After a full on Portugal-focused month, this week, I’ve finalised my 50 Great Portuguese Wines for the 2010 annual tasting and updated the Portugal entries for Hugh Johnson Pocket Wine 2011 – hurrah!
And my thoughts have now magically reverted to my Western Australia trip of September/October. You’ll find here the first of my detailed regional reports. It focuses on the weekend I spent at Howard Park, guesting at their annual International Riesling Tasting, but also finding out about exciting new developments like:
- Howard Park Reserve Riesling, a feisty single vineyard Rizza
- Howard Park Riche Riesling, a Euro-centric Riesling
- Madfish Premier and Gold Turtle labels, Madfish goes posh
- Marchand & Burch Pinot Noir, happenings in Burgundy and Great Southern
- developments in the vineyard (the picture is a clue) and, indeed, a new vineyard.
Just a few bits of news then!
All best
